What is Medicare

Shining a Light through the Medicare Madness

Choosing a Washington Medicare Supplement can be challenging, at best. Even Medicare can be one of the most confusing things in the world. Never mind the:

  • “stack of fire starter mail” that has overtaken your kitchen table
  • the constant phone calls

Every plan and agent pulls out all the stops to get you to pick them. It certainly doesn’t make things easier when everyone you talk to says that “this” supplement or “that” plan is the best. And I found that “Bob” down the street is the worst offender regarding opinions on Medicare Supplement plans.

How Easy Is It

We are here to make the process much easier and be a resource giving you valuable and accurate information from our Licensed Insurance Brokers. We don’t have broker fees for our services since all the Medicare Supplement Plans compensate us directly, without directly increasing your costs.

So back to what Medicare is. Medicare is a national social insurance program started by the United States government in 1966. It consists of Part A (Hospital), Part B (Medical), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (Prescription Drugs). In 2010 there were 48 million Americans enrolled in Medicare. Imagine what you baby boomers have done to that number!!

Below is a video explaining the Medicare program put on by Humana (a company that was contracted with, amongst many others). Many resources on this website will help you make sense of Medicare Supplements in Washington and your options. We live and work in Washington with nearly every supplement and plan in the state.
