Health Insurance Open Enrollment

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), there is now a health insurance open enrollment.  If you are not familiar with what open enrollment is.

It’s the one time a year you can make health insurance plan changes.  The only other time in the year that you can make health plan changes is if you qualify for one of the many special election periods.

Some of the special election periods are:

• Getting married
• Losing employer coverage
• Coming off of Medicaid

There are other special election periods available, but in our experience these are the most used ones.

The Health Insurance Open Enrollment period is November 1 – January 31
